1/18 Update: Milford Basketball Association will be taking a one week pause from league play so we will be postponing all of their games from 1/18 through 1/24. This will have a wide-reaching impact to the schedule of many teams even if you are not playing Milford as we fill open gaps in gym schedules created by these postponements. Please check your schedules towards the end of the week. All coaches have been subscribed to game change notifications so please check your emails.
We will continue to rely on guidance from the State of Ohio, the OHSAA, and local school districts on precautions that must be taken in order to run our league in the safest manner possible. Our COVID-19 operating guidelines have been approved by the departments of health in all counties that we operate in and we stand ready to help our member communities. We understand that with such a large and diverse league that there are a variety of opinions and thoughts on COVID-19 and steps that must be taken to minimize exposure to it. However, we must come together for the common good and abide by guidelines that have been well thought out by the State of Ohio, the OHSAA, and the local school districts where your children attend school. The viability and success of the league will depend on it for this season.Coaches, Parents, and Players,
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions put in place by the state of Ohio regarding percentage occupancy of indoor facilities, some of the gyms have special requirements in order to be in compliance due to their size. This news item will be displayed on the front page of the CPYBL web site for the duration of the 2020-21 season. Please make yourself familiar with it. As of today, the league rule is that each player can have at most two people attend the game with them. The Head Coach and one Assistant Coach do not count in this total. Coordinators and Coaches must be logged into their account to access these forms. All coordinators are well aware of these requirements, there is no communication between the league and the 10,000 parents associated with it. We communicate to our member organizations and it is their responsibility to communicate to their coaches and parents.
There is a matching process that takes place between waivers and rosters based on the last name and birth date of the player. In some cases, the member organization has the incorrect birth date on the roster and it is the responsibility of the member organization to fix this. If you are a parent and have correctly filled out your liability waiver, there is no need to fill out 5 others. Have your member organization check the roster.
Organizations/Coordinators: An Organization Agreement form must be filled out (one per organization). This is available from the Portals->Coordinator menu.
Coaches: Coaches must fill out an online Code of Conduct form which is available from the Portals-Coach menu.
Players: Parents must filled out a Liability Waiver Form once per school year. Without this form, your player is ineligible to play in our league. Playing without a waiver may result in forfeiture of games.
