December 2nd Update: Games kickoff this weekend! Please make sure that all codes of conduct and liability waivers are in for your coaches and players. We are working on the schedule for January/February as we are gaining an additional 400+ teams who chose to start later in the year. The schedule will be out before Christmas.

We will continue to rely on guidance from the State of Ohio, the OHSAA, and local school districts on precautions that must be taken in order to run our league in the safest manner possible. Our COVID-19 operating guidelines have been approved by the departments of health in all counties that we operate in and we stand ready to help our member communities. We understand that with such a large and diverse league that there are a variety of opinions and thoughts on COVID-19 and steps that must be taken to minimize exposure to it. However, we must come together for the common good and abide by guidelines that have been well thought out by the State of Ohio, the OHSAA, and the local school districts where your children attend school. The viability and success of the league will depend on it for this season.

    Waivers and Compliance

This is a reminder that in order for organizations, coaches (head coaches only!), and players to participate in the CPYBL, the league needs to be in possession of online documents that need to be filled out once per school year before games begin.  Coordinators and Coaches must be logged into their account to access these forms.  All coordinators are well aware of these requirements, there is no communication between the league and the 10,000 parents associated with it.  We communicate to our member organizations and it is their responsibility to communicate to their coaches and parents.

There is a matching process that takes place between waivers and rosters based on the last name and birth date of the player.  In some cases, the member organization has the incorrect birth date on the roster and it is the responsibility of the member organization to fix this.  If you are a parent and have correctly filled out your liability waiver, there is no need to fill out 5 others.  Have your member organization check the roster.

Organizations/Coordinators:  An Organization Agreement form must be filled out (one per organization).  This is available from the Portals->Coordinator menu.

Coaches: Coaches must fill out an online Code of Conduct form which is available from the Portals-Coach menu.

Players: Parents must filled out a Liability Waiver Form once per school year.  Without this form, your player is ineligible to play in our league.  Playing without a waiver may result in forfeiture of games.

COVID-19 Gym Instructions (updated on 12/3)

    Coaches, Parents, and Players,

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions put in place by the state of Ohio regarding percentage occupancy of indoor facilities, some of the gyms have special requirements in order to be in compliance due to their size.  This news item will be displayed on the front page of the CPYBL web site for the duration of the 2020-21 season.  Please make yourself familiar with it.  As of today, the league rule is that each player can have at most two people attend the game with them.  Coaches count in this total.

    Lower Capacity Gyms

All of these gyms will only allow 1 guest per player and that guest must be an adult

    1. Bridgetown Multipurpose (not the main gym)
    2. Delhi Multipurpose (not the main gym)
    3. Donovan Elementary
    4. Mariemont Elementary and Junior High School
    5. Summit Country Day Athletic Complex
    6. Terrace Park Elementary
    7. Whitewater Elementary

    League Timeline

We will offer three weeks of league play in December for those organizations that wish to start at that time.  For everyone else, we will start the second weekend in January. For teams starting in December we will try to schedule a typical number of games for the season (10 for rec/high-rec and 20 for athletic) and for those starting in January (7-8 for rec/high-rec and 14-16 for athletic).  This is highly dependent on the amount of gym time available.

Please reach out with any questions you might have.

    Coach Accounts

We are getting alot of email about Coach Accounts. First, your coach account will not be created until we approve your team.  This will not happen until early November for teams starting in December or until early December for teams starting in January

If you are a coach and have a question about your account, PLEASE go to the Coach page and try to do some investigation yourself before emailing the league. Only head coaches are granted coach accounts and it is based on the email address assigned to your team by your coordinator. Also, several of you are asking why you can't find the Coach Portal.  The Portals menu at the top of the web site does not show up unless you are logged into your account with coach or coordinator level privileges.  Makes sense right?  We don't expose menu options to just anybody, you need to be logged into your account that has those options first.  Thanks!
